NYX Undress Me (P, $4.50) is lighter, cooler (85% similar).Makeup Geek Petal Pusher (P, $6.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar).Colour Pop Chic Happens (P, $4.50) is darker, warmer (85% similar).Melt Cosmetics Last Caress (PiP, ) is darker, more muted (90% similar). It stayed on well for nine hours before fading a bit. The eyeshadow blended out well along the edges and seemed to darken slightly while appearing a bit warmer-toned as well. The texture was finely-milled, silky-smooth, and a smidgen powdery in the pan, though it applied evenly and maintained its opaque coverage, so it wasn’t prone to sheering out too readily. Velouria is a muted, medium-dark mauve with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. Most of the shades last between eight and nine hours.īrowse all of our Pat McGrath EYEdols Eyeshadow swatches. The sparkly/glittery shades are often designed to be applied wet for richer coverage or intensity, which has largely been my experience. The more metallic finishes tend to be softer, creamy, and smooth with a bit more denseness and no powderiness. The satin and pearl finishes are smooth, lightly creamy, and firmer but not dense or thick with good pigmentation, blendability, and easy application. The mattes are velvety, blendable, and dense without being thick or too heavy, and they have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation where a little can go a long way with some of the deeper and richer hues. The lids are held closed by a weak magnet, so I'm not sure they're as secure as most single eyeshadow compacts in my stash-I wish it really locked in, but there's definitely a magnet that pulls the lid down if it's within 2mm of the base. They are not removable, unfortunately, so one would have to depot like any other single eyeshadow-I tried using tweezers and lifting on several shades to no avail. The brand released single eyeshadows in March 2019, and the shades have been consistent in quality, look, and feel. Pat McGrath's eyeshadows are, generally, supposed to be "super-saturated" with "creamy, soft textures" and "extreme blendability and adherence without creasing." A lot of how well they perform (and to some degree, how they are supposed to be applied and marketed) depends on the type of shades, but by and large, the eyeshadows perform very much as they are described. LORAC Dream It (LE, $19.00) is cooler (95% similar).Make Up For Ever I514 Pink Ivory (P, $17.00) is lighter, cooler (95% similar). Guerlain Crazy Paris #2 (LE, ) is brighter (95% similar).MAC Amberluxe #1 (PiP, ) is less shimmery (95% similar).LORAC Sugar (LE, $19.00) is lighter (95% similar).Kat Von D Galore (LE, ) is warmer (95% similar).Chanel Poesie #2 (LE, ) is less shimmery, warmer (95% similar). Dior Shimmer Beige (PiP, ) is less shimmery (95% similar).MAC Nano Nude (LE, $21.00) is lighter (95% similar).I didn’t notice any differences between this version and the one in the Subliminal palette. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me before fading a bit. The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and smooth to the touch. The color payoff was opaque in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out without issue. Skinshow Nude is a soft, golden beige with warm undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. Iridescent Pink 003 is very similar to the Iridescent Pink 003 in the Sublime Skin Highlighter formula but felt a bit different overall the version in the palette is slightly more powdery with less of a plush feel compared to the highlighter, and the eyeshadow seems to read more sparkly/shimmery applied, but the two are very, very comparable in color and finish. There are three shades within the palette that have previously been released: Skinshow Nude is from the Subliminal palette, Rose Dusk is from the Sublime palette, and Astral Solstice is from the Midnight Sun palette. On the 6th, the brand said to “stay tuned” for an announcement on November 7th at 10AM ET along with an image of a rose, so perhaps we’ll get a straight answer on if/when the palette will be released elsewhere.Īll of the shades had semi-opaque or better pigmentation with soft, blendable textures with eight to 10 hour wear, and in general, they were consistent with past experiences with the brand’s eyeshadows and palettes. Pat McGrath Divine Rose Mothership Palette ($125.00 for 0.47 oz.) is a new, surprise release from the brand that debuted exclusively on Selfridges’ app for a hot minute (hour, probably) and then launched at Sephora Australia.
